The Rules of Cypher Chess

V. The King.

a. The King moves as in classical chess.

b. He cannot be checked by major pieces in the Field (but see exception of collusion, below).

c. Unlike the other major pieces, he can enter Court without the aid of the Spy.

d. Once in Court, he must remain at least one square away from his own Spy and he cannot “flip” the opposing Spy by moving next to it: In Court, the opposing Spy flips

him from any Court square, inclu-ding from any square across the board, as long as no pieces block its trajectory. (However, the Court-King can still flip the opposing Field- or Border-Spy.) See discussion of flipping, below.
