II. Sanctuary in the Court, Border and Field (cont.).

d. Only major pieces can go into Court. From there, they can attack and capture major pieces (inclu-ding the King) that sit on Field squares.

e. The King enjoys limited sanctu-ary. He cannot be checked by ma-jor pieces that sit  on Field squares; however, pawns can check the King from anywhere within the Field and Border areas. (See also collusion.)

f. Pawns cannot go into the Court area.

​

g. The Spy can capture opposing pieces within the Court area, the only piece able to do that.
