pieces, but they can attack any piece (excluding the Spy) outside of court. And major pieces in Court or the Border can attack major pieces in the Field. (Recall that, in Court, major pieces can only be attacked by the opposing Spy.) Here, the black Queen is threatened by its white coun-terpart. And the white Queen, bishop and pawn all have the black King in check. If black’s move, the King can capture the pawn on b5.
